Happy Horses with Trapper Creek Ranch Hay
Your horses will be as happy as our string of 58 horses, every time you feed them Trapper Creek Ranch Hay. Located in Shell, Wyoming at the entrance of the Trapper Creek Canyon we cultivate some 150 acres of alfalfa / grass hay meadows. (www.trapper-creek-guest-ranch.com)
We raise hay for our The Hideout Guest Ranch horses (www.thehideout.com), but usually we produce more then we need, and offer some for sale.
At an elevation of 4200 feet, we produce a mix of prime grass and alfalfa / grass hay.
Irrigation
We irrigate our fields with fresh mountain water from The Trapper Creek. Trapper Ranch lies at the entrance of this pristine canyon and our fields are the first ones to be irrigated with this crystal clear water. The Trapper Creek contains a fair amount of sediment, which is a natural fertilizer to our fields each year.
Our nights are cool, but not cold and our days bring plenty of sunshine and clear blue skies.
We cover our hay
We mostly produce big square bales (around 1500lbs) and some small bales.
However we can bale according to your specifications if you let us know ahead of time.
After bailing, we cover our hay with tarps or keep it in well vented barns to preserve the quality and color.
Please contact peter@thehideout.com if you would like to purchase some of our hay.
